In 2019, Arthur Health teamed up with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the University Health Network to scale a rapid-access clinic model of care for low-back pain (LBP). The Arthur Health team moved quickly to enhance its digital health platform. The team configured standardized complex-care assessments for providers in the network as well as customized workflows. Communication among medical providers all over Ontario is central to the new system. Arthur Health created this critical element using the communication and automation capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365. The rapid-access clinic model of care was adapted from the successful pilot that ran for five years in metropolitan, urban, rural, and northern healthcare settings. Using an interprofessional shared care model for LBP management that linked primary to tertiary care, the pilot demonstrated immediate improvement in access to care, thanks to Quisitive and the technologies deployed.
Addressing Challenges with Great Solutions
Today, the biggest challenge in the healthcare sector is staff burnout, which leads to staff turnover, costing organizations millions of dollars annually. One way Quisitive addresses the issue is by using the latest in Microsoft AI technology and its MazikCare platform to automate and streamline tasks to reduce administrative burdens, particularly on nurses, physicians, and other clinicians. When they can automate the filling out of forms such as prior authorization requests, this releases the staff from completing these tasks and allows them to focus on patient care.
