Self-Managing “SMART” Workloads Accelerate Migration and Deliver Continuous Optimization for Public Cloud
Turbonomic, the leader in workload automation for hybrid cloud and three-time ranking Forbes Cloud 100 company, today announced new capabilities that help customers accelerate cloud migration and optimize workloads in Microsoft Azure environments. New Reserved Instance (RI) purchasing capabilities for Microsoft Azure Hybrid Benefit and Azure Site Recovery (ASR) integration deliver the industry’s fastest and most accurate cloud assessments for Azure customers. Today’s news closely follows other recently announced Turbonomic capabilities for self-managing container platforms across customers’ Kubernetes-as-a-Service offering of choice.
Additionally, recognizing Turbonomic’s unique ability to help organizations assess, migrate and optimize cloud deployments with a single software platform, Microsoft has selected Turbonomic as a preferred partner to help customers prepare for Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 end of support.
“With the depth and breadth of choices that Microsoft Azure offers, customers need to make the right decisions about how and where to place and size workloads, from planning to ongoing optimization,” said Bill Veghte, Executive Chairman at Turbonomic. “Turbonomic is excited to be a Microsoft preferred partner in helping customers assess and then plan their cloud journey – optimizing their on-premises and Azure workloads to get the highest performance at the lowest cost while ensuring compliance with business policy. Turbonomic’s new innovations make it faster, easier and even clearer for customers as they prepare their plans for the impending end of support for Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008.”
New Assessment & Migration Capabilities
Turbonomic is the industry’s only AI-powered platform that enables workloads to self-manage, anywhere, in real-time (“SMART” workloads) to assure application performance at the lowest cost while enforcing business policies, both on-premises and in the public cloud. With its latest software release, Turbonomic delivers the new, unique ability for customers to maximize Microsoft’s Azure Hybrid Benefit, saving them up to 80 percent on Windows services and 55 percent on SQL Server.
By leveraging the Azure Hybrid Benefit, customers can make a compelling business case for migrating to Azure. Turbonomic’s RI purchasing capabilities and out-of-the-box support for Azure Hybrid Benefit distinctively prepare customers for minimizing their footprint and cost on Azure. Additionally, Turbonomic now offers ASR (Azure Site Recovery) integration generating detailed plans to inform the right migration decisions.
The company will showcase its new capabilities next week, during Microsoft Ignite 2018 (booth #315). Additionally, Turbonomic Cloud CTO, Mor Cohen, will present, “Seven Days to Azure: Assess, Migrate & Optimize for Windows & SQL Server 2008 Prior to End of Support” on September 26th at 1:40 PM ET from Expo Theater 3. Cohen will also be participating in multiple Microsoft Migration Classroom presentations, which will take place within the Azure Migration Booth over the course of the event.
Customer and Partner Momentum
As customer demand for workloads that self-manage, anywhere, in real-time increases, Turbonomic is gaining strong business momentum, rapidly expanding its partner and alliance ecosystem and earning industry recognition and accolades. Most recently, Turbonomic was named to Inc. magazine’s list of the fastest-growing private American companies (for a third time) and ranked on the Forbes Cloud 100 (for the third consecutive year).
Quisitive is both a premier Microsoft solutions provider and Turbonomic partner. Kevin Castillo, VP of Sales, at Quisitive, said: “We believe the journey to modernization starts with Microsoft Azure and our partnership with Turbonomic gives us an accelerated way to quickly and accurately help our customers migrate to and optimize within Azure.”
A leading Fortune 500 healthcare company also trusts Turbonomic to optimize its Azure environment. As the company continues to grow and invest in its next generation of applications, it requires a solution that safely increases the utilization of its on-premises infrastructure while effectively managing Azure workloads, including Kubernetes on Azure production deployment. Turbonomic’s intelligence and time to value was critical to ensuring that the organization negotiated a proper cloud contract. And, by automatically making the best workload decisions – continuously, Turbonomic has completely eliminated the guesswork that comes with manual workload management.
